Heaven

Ok, I forget what it's like to travel--the hassles.  To be traveling for 30 hours, by car, shuttle, plane, bus, trolley car.  To be three minutes from your gate only to be told the gate is closed and you have missed your flight and the next plane to Milan is in four hours. And watching your body adjust to the new time frame--6 hours ahead--having very little sleep and not knowing how to flush the toilet because it's so different than the one at home.  To not speak the language.
Milan was lively and interesting and so good to see my cousin, Nicola and his wife, Adele, but folks, I am in Tuscany now, outside of Siena at a retreat--and it feels like I have died and gone to heaven.  Photos to follow if I can figure it out!

At the Airport!

I'm tired and I have two hours and 40 more minutes until the plane takes off.  However, I am sitting in a nice climate-controlled lounge while it's pretty hot in the rest of JFK.  Took the shuttle from New Haven.  Paul dropped me off.  The Lufthansa lounge has a nice array of light foods for snacking before the flight.  I feel a little lonely.  I kissed Paul goodby at around 4 pm.  Ok I'm getting a little cranky so I think I'll take a nap.  Be in Milan tomorrow at 11:20 am.  Ciao!!!
